ABOUT US
A: At Mountain Creek Farm, we have deliberately chosen not to pursue organic certification for a few key reasons. Firstly, obtaining and maintaining a Certified Organic label involves extensive paperwork and administrative costs that do not always directly benefit our customers or our farming practices. Secondly, the integrity of organic certification has been compromised by certain imports, making it less reliable as a true indicator of quality. Instead, we prioritize working with local suppliers and use third-party testing on our grains to ensure there is no herbicide residue. This approach allows us to maintain a high level of transparency and trust with our customers. By avoiding the inflated costs associated with organic certification, we can pass those savings onto our customers while still guaranteeing high-quality, safe, and ethically produced products. Our commitment to regenerative agriculture and third-party testing ensures that every product from Mountain Creek Farm meets stringent quality standards without the unnecessary overhead.
A: No, at Mountain Creek Farm, our ruminant animals, including both beef and lamb, are 100% grass-fed and finished. Throughout the growing season, they graze on the forage available in our pastures. During the winter months, we provide them with hay and supplement their diet with organic alfalfa pellets to ensure we meet their protein requirements. Additionally, our animals receive high-quality minerals and have constant access to fresh water, aligning with our commitment to ethical and regenerative farming practices.
A: Our current operations are managed exclusively by our family, as we do not have additional employees. Parting out chickens involves significant additional labor and increased packaging requirements, which at this time, do not align with our capacity and resources. Selling whole chickens allows us to maintain the efficiency and quality of our offerings. However, we are open to the possibility of providing parted chickens in the future if it becomes feasible for our situation. By focusing on whole chickens, we are able to offer a nutritious product at a price point that still makes sense for the consumer.
